the chicken coop is small
a rooster like Mark Alder, and Ken Eastman has larger dreams

a small town l;ike stillwater is rural
people such as Stephan Wilson, Mary Fallin, Uchida Yuri, Lee Fan, Sheng Wu, and Ramesh Rao could be rare

melon park homes and folks could look ordinary,
the idea of google under larry page, erich schmidt, sergey brin, and sundai pichar could be revolutionary

everything could begin with nothing,
a blog by jingle, sina, and Asium could be flat,
but years of oxley work could lay brinks and build a community of poets, poetry, and inspirations

thanks to Helen zu-Yang Park, Sheng W, Tom L. Wu, Jiahong Wu, William Jaco, Benny Evans,
we enjoy Bost, Jones, William, Peterson, Allen, Bayles, Mabee, Prytania, and Mary Loveless
we value Hogan family, Raun Family, Passmore family, McClurg family, Storm family, Gundy family,

Sherwood or Kenwood,
Driftwood or Tomatwood,
all forests thrive, and all talents will stretch

Today, our featured participant is Blymey Rhymies, where the Mary Oliver-inspired poem for Day Five reads a bit like Mary Oliver as reinterpreted by Edward Lear with a side of Lemony Snicket.

Napowrimo day 5 – Bishop’s Wood

a poem by  blymey rhymies

Let’s all trot to Bishop’s Wood
Entangled roots and ankle-deep mud
Where my kin goes when we need the air
We know plenty of places to hide bodies there.
In the acid green pond and the big mossy bogs
Ducks don’t swim and you won’t see frogs
The sun leaks in through the boughs of the trees
And everything is the colour of peas.
Come one, come all, but stay on the tracks
Don’t come alone, and watch your backs
Bring kids, bring dogs – you’ll all have a lark
And make sure you’ve found your way out by dark

Serene Symphony

by arty jules

As soft breeze rustles through the air
Bronzed copper fish so brightly gleam,
Suspended in a glowing flare,
High up above his head they beam.

Bronzed copper fish so brightly gleam,
Their movement tinkling tunefully,
While high up above his head they stream
Twirling circles musically.

Their movement tinkling tunefully,
Throwing shadows on the wall,
Twirling circles musically,
Gentle sounds that so enthral.

Throwing shadows on the wall,
Playing notes of harmony.
Gentle sounds that so enthral,
Floating free so cheerfully.

Playing notes of harmony,
Suspended in a glowing flare,
Floating free so cheerfully,
As soft breeze rustles through the air.
